Bronze Home Guard Safety Cannon

This was the sales page for the Bronze Home Guard Firecracker Cannon.
This cannon was made by Ray-Vin from 2001 to 2004. Fifty numbered examples were made. There were two or three that were un-numbered as well as a yellow brass and a couple of aluminum ones.

These are no longer being made and we have no plans to resume production at this time.

The cannon breaks open at the breech just like a shotgun. A standard 1-1/2" firecracker is inserted into the barrel and the fuse lays in the breech face notch. On releasing the cannon, gravity closes the breech and the weight of the cannon (three pounds!) holds the action closed. Simply light the fuse to fire.
We have found that a second firecracker inserted into the muzzle end of the barrel, fuse first, will be lighted and launched when the first firecracker explodes. The second firecracker then explodes 15 to 20 feet away!
